Is your business eligible for a SuperConnected Cites, Broadband grant?

The reliability of a business’s internet connectivity plays a pivotal role in the productivity of your typical SME, luckily enough the UK Government want to help you boost your business broadband capacity.

You may have heard the broadband voucher scheme or the SuperConnected Cities grant, this is a grant available to UK businesses towards the cost of upgrading their business internet connection, to a superfast, fibre based internet solution.

If you qualify, you could be entitled to up to £3000.00 towards the cost of upgrading, and here is the criteria:

  1. You employ less than 249 people or volunteers
  2. You have a turnover of less than €50 (around £41m) and/or have a balance sheet of less than €43M (around £35.5M)
  3. You have received less than £120k in public grants in the last 3 years
  4. You do not operate in sector which is excluded from the Scheme*
  5. You do not have a parent company or linked enterprise which does not meet the eligibility criteria
  6. Installation of your new broadband connection will cost over £100
  7. The connection is for your business premises. You can apply for a connection at home if this is your main work base, but this does not apply if you work from home occasionally
  8. As a minimum should deliver a speed of 20Mbps (Uncontended and with SLA) or 30Mbps (FTTC).
